Manchester United made a 'desperate attempt' to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, with the player's team choosing to accept Manchester City's offer in a stunning revelation.

Ronaldo is set to leave Juventus this summer, with Man City thought to be the frontrunners to acquire his services.

He appears in line to return to the Premier League by heading to the blue side of Manchester despite his legendary status at Man United.

Fans and critics alike questioned why The Red Devils haven't made a move for their former star man.

Ronaldo enjoyed six trophy-laden seasons at Old Trafford, winning the Premier League title three times and the prestigious Champions League, among other silverware.
