Manchester City Want Former Blackburn Player As Ilkay Gundogan Replacement

After damaging the cruciate ligaments in his right knee during Manchester City's win over Watford. former Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan is set to miss the rest of the season with injury.

Although the news is devastating for Pep Guardiola and co, it looks like the Premier League side are already making steps to replace the German midfielder.

According to Spanish publication Estadio Deportivo, Manchester City are looking to sign former Blackburn midfielder Steven N'Zonzi, who is currently impressing in La Liga with Sevilla.

Journalist Alredo Pedulla also reported the transfer news linking N'Zonzi with a move to Manchester City, stating that Juventus will also try and sign the midfielder::

N'Zonzi spent three years with Blackburn Rovers, making 86 appearances for the club before joining Stoke City in 2012 for a reported £7 million.

The 28-year-old has been linked with a move to Barcelona, Chelsea and Liverpool in recent months, but it looks like Guardiola will try and lure the player to Manchester in January.
