Manchester City could find themselves in trouble with FIFA after Argentine club Velez Sarsfield reported the Premier League club over their signing of teenage midfielder Benjamin Garre.

Velez have claimed that City tried to sign Garre when he was just 15-years-old, which would breach FIFA's rule of transferring minors, a ruling that has seen Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid hit with transfer embargoes over the past few years.

As reported in The Daily Telegraph, Velez President Raul Gamez said "Never have I experienced such an immoral act... We don't know what they offered the father and the child in order to convince them. In Velez, we defend values and we act in good faith. We are not interested in collecting 50,000 euros or 1,000,000 euros if said action is prohibited and may affect the player."

City have defended themselves against Velez's accusations, claiming that Garre holds an Italian passport, allowing him to join Pep Guardiola's side on his 16th birthday.
