It's not often that players cross the divide directly from Manchester United to Liverpool or vice versa, in fact it's 52 years since it last happened, when Phil Chisnall traded Old Trafford for Anfield for £25,000 in April 1964. However, the Reds are reportedly trying to tempt United flop Memphis Depay to Merseyside in the summer.
Memphis, a £25m arrival from PSV Eindhoven last Summer has struggled for form despite a bright initial start to his United career and it is believed that Jurgen Klopp feels he can revive the young Dutchman, who Louis Van Gaal has apparently run out of patience with.
The main sticking point of the deal, aside from the intense rivalry between the two teams, is that Van Gaal is unlikely to be at Old Trafford next season, so even if he doesn't have any use for Memphis, chances are his likely replacement Jose Mourinho may find a way of maximising the former PSV man's potential.

Liverpool were one of the numerous clubs chasing the winger last Summer, before United pipped them to his signature.
