Liverpool and Tottenham are already entrenched in the battle for a top four spot/Premier League title push and now the two teams are prepared to go head-to-head for the signature of ex-Manchester United striker Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez.
The Mirror are reporting that Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino are both keen to add the Mexican forward to their squads during the winter transfer window in order to aid their quest for silverware during the second half of the campaign.

Hernandez has been in terrific form since joining Bayer Leverkusen from United in 2015, scoring 33 goals in 60 games for the Bundesliga side.
Jurgen Klopp still has concerns over the fitness of both Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi while Pochettino still doesn't have a reliable back-up option for Harry Kane, with new arrival Vincent Janssen failing to convince since his Summer move to White Hart Lane, scoring just one league goal, so far.

Hernandez is believed to have a £33.5m release clause in his contract with Leverkusen, which may prove to be a stumbling block for both teams, with Leverkusen not desperate to sell therefore under no obligation to settle for anything less than the release clause.
