Without much of a budget to work with in the January transfer window, Barcelona are looking to conduct a very astute piece of business by bringing everyone's favourite Croatian right-back Darijo Srna to the Camp Nou on a free transfer.
The Shakhtar Donetsk captain would be available for nothing in January and has been reportedly ready to leave the Ukraine for some time, with Barca's technical secretary Robert Fernandez maintaining contact with the Croatian international as he sounds him out about a winter move, according to AS.

A pricier alternative to Srna would only be a possibility if the Spanish champions were to sell a player, but at this moment in time, that doesn't appear to be an option the club are willing to pursue.
Were Srna to swap Donetsk for Catalonia, it would mark the end of a remarkable 13 years with Shakhtar, where the 34-year-old has lifted eight Ukrainian Premier League titles, six Ukrainian Cups and a UEFA Cup for which he was presenting with the Man Of The Match award in the final.

Srna represented Croatia 134 times, becoming the country's most capped player in the process and representing the nation at six major tournaments, captaining his country from 2009 until his international retirement, this Summer.
