He may not be in the Etihad dugout just yet but Pep Guardiola is already planning some drastic changes at Manchester City, one of which involves Vincent Kompany.
According to reports in The Sun today, the Bayern manager has informed City's Sporting Director Txiki Begiristain to place the club's captain on the transfer list, citing the Belgian's worsening injury problems as a reason for a defensive overhaul.
Kompany has started just 12 matches this term due to a series of muscle injuries which have taken their toll on his performances and Guardiola has made Athletic's France u21 centre half Aymeric Laporte a priority signing to replace Kompany.

The option of keeping the former Anderlecht man around as a back up is also not an option Guardiola is considering as he apparently fears it could lead to dressing room dissent if Kompany is unhappy with not being first choice.
Kompany isn't the only City player on Pep's hitlist, with Wilfied Bony, Samir Nasri and Yaya Toure all heavily linked with moves away from East Manchester once the Catalan coach arrives.
