That's cleared that up, then

Whenever any player is linked with a move to the Chinese Super League nowadays, no matter who it is, it's tempting to believe that there is some substance to the rumours, given the amount of money on offer in the Far East.

One player that isn't moving to China, or at least one of the country's top flight clubs in particular, is Cesc Fabregas.

While Cesc may not be moving to China, this season, here are few players who have made the switch to the Far East...

Chelsea's Spanish midfielder has been reduced to a role on the subs bench under Antonio Conte, this season with N'Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic becoming the Italian manager's preferred pairing in the middle of the park. So it was unsurprising when the World Cup winner was linked with a big money move away from Stamford Bridge.

The club in question that were linked with Fabregas however, Shandong Luneng, knew nothing of their own supposed interest and decided to take to their official Weibo (Chinese social media platfom) account to dismiss the rumours in pretty emphatic fashion.

Translated from Chinese, the message reads:

"Yikes! What a super competent agent we have. But Fabregas is not our cup of tea.

"Please, for God's sake do not spread the fake news. Shandong Luneng will not buy another foreign player this season. Our coaching staff have already made elaborate arrangements for our foreign players.

"In the meantime, we will remain committed to producing home-grown talents for the Luneng academy. How about bringing up our own Fabregas."

Unfortunately for Fabregas, it looks as though he'll just have to make do collecting his £200,000+ a week while winning this season's Premier League title with Chelsea, instead of being paid in wheelbarrows full of diamonds in the Chinese Super League.
