Carlos Tevez and Shanghai Shenhua are reportedly in talks to 'mutually agree' to cancel his £615,000-a-week deal, with hometown club Boca Juniors his likely destination.

Tevez, who is expected to join up with Boca for pre-season training in Buenos Aires next week, admitted that he could retire from football back in December 2016.

Instead the 33-year-old accepted the staggering riches of China to become the 'highest paid footballer' in December last year, picking up 20 times what he earned at Boca Juniors.

Despite his enormous price tag Tevez struggled to adapt to life in the Chinese Super League, scoring just four goals during his time at Shanghai.

With reports emerging that Tevez has reached an agreement with Shanghai Shenhua, It got us thinking how much the former Manchester United striker has earned since making his 'record-breaking' transfer.

When you breakdown the player's wage at Shanghai, it amounts to a staggering £32 million per year. That's £615,000 per week.

Imagine taking home £88,000 per day. Still not impressed? Well Tevez earned £3,600 per hour during his spell in China. That's £60 per minute.

Months after his transfer to Shanghai, it was actually revealed that Tevez's mere £615,000-a-week wage pales in comparison to his fellow Argentinian Ezequiel Lavezzi, who takes home £798k every single week, according to Football Leaks: The Dirty Business of Football.

Lavezzi plays for fellow Chinese Super League side Hebei China Fortune, who pay him £41.5 million-per-year. The 32 year old moved east earlier last year after playing second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic at PSG.

Here's what Lionel Messi can spend a month's wages on:

Another Chinese SL star Oscar isn't even the third best paid player in the world, with Cristiano Ronaldo sitting between Tevez and the Brazilian on the world's best paid list.
