Eight years after signing for Premier League side West Ham in a £9 million deal, Savio Nsereko is currently without a club after his contract at Lithuanian club FK Lietava Jonava, who have an average attendance of 1,009, was terminated by mutual consent.
The story of Ugandan born winger Savio is rather incredible. From starting just one game back in 2009 with West Ham to playing for Kazakhstan Premier League side FC Atyrau, the 27-year-old's journey from highly-rated attacker in Serie A to this current day is one of great intrigue.
Scoring just four goals in eight years would be disheartening for any footballer, and Savio's journey, which has taken him to Romania, Germany, Italy and Lithuania is a one-of-a-kind story, like no other.

Following the departure of Craig Bellamy in 2009, West Ham needed a replacement for the former Manchester City man and wide man Savio was pitched as the perfect successor.
He had scored three goals in 23 games for Brescia in the previous season. and with plenty of interest from around Europe, West Ham eventually snapped him up, but he only lasted a season, making 10 appearances in total.
Savio returned to Italy in 2009, with Fiorentina completing a €2.7 million deal for the player. In all honesty, that move was a disaster from start to finish. He was loaned out to six different clubs between 2009 and 2012.

These clubs included Italian side Bologna, German club TSV 1860 Munich, Bulgarian side PSFC Chernomorets Burgas, another Italian outfit S.S. Juve Stabia then Romanian side FC Vaslui and finally, another German club SpVgg Unterhaching.
During his time with S.S. Juve Stabia, Savio was reported missing, which lead to the club asking for unilateral rescission of the contract. He was eventually found in London.
After these loan spells, Savio joined FC Viktoria Köln in 2013, making six appearances for the club before leaving months later. He then joined FC Atyrau of the Kazakhstan Premier League on a 18-month contract. He actually scored a goal during his short spell at the club, but he soon moved on to another venture.

PFC Beroe Stara Zagora wanted him to join their squad in Bulgaria in 2015, but that only lasted a matter of months.
Now he is without a club after being released from Lithuanian side FK Lietava Jonava, who terminated his contract by mutual consent.
What a journey - 13 clubs in 10 years is some record.
