Unai Emery has been hellbent on landing a defender following the departure of Laurent Koscielny who left for Bordeaux, and the Spaniard has finally got his man ahead of the season opener.
Speaking about Luiz, he said: "David has huge experience and I look forward to working with him again. He is a well known player and adds to our defensive strength."

Luiz, who'll wear the No.23 shirt, is Arsenal's sixth signing of the summer window following the arrivals of Nicolas Pepe, William Saliba, Gabriel Martinelli, Dani Ceballos and Kieran Tierney, who also joined on Deadline Day.
The Scottish left-back completed a £25 million move from Celtic earlier today.
