Gareth Bale has endured a difficult relationship with Real Madrid fans over the last four years. He's helped the club to three Champions League victories, scoring the decisive goal in the 2014 final as well as THAT winning goal against Barcelona in the 2014 Copa Del Rey final. Yet the Los Blancos fans still haven't wholly taken to the Welshman and now it seems as if even Cristiano Ronaldo wants the former Tottenham man replaced at the Bernabeu.

Bale's last few months in the Spanish capital have been plagued by injuries, with the £86 million man making only five La Liga appearances, this season and only 19 last season. With Real now already trailing Barcelona by eight points in the Spanish title race, Zinedine Zidane needs all the firepower he can get to help the European and Spanish champions and Bale's injury problems and lack of form aren't likely to do them any favours in the pursuit of Ernesto Valverde's league leaders.

And, according to a report in Diario Gol, Cristiano Ronaldo has identified on-loan Valencia forward Goncalo Guedes to replace the former Spurs star, with the 20-year-old one of the main reasons behind Valencia's electric start to the current campaign.

Guedes, who is owned by Paris Saint-Germain has scored three times and laid on five assists for Los Che since arriving at the Mestalla, this summer and, given the array of talent currently at Unai Emery's disposal in Paris, it's likely the young Portuguese forward won't be enjoying much first team football at the Parc des Princes once he returns there, next year.

Ronaldo's preference for Guedes to replace Bale would make a lot of sense, seeing as Guedes is not only a compatriot of the four time Ballon d'Or winner, but is also represented by Portuguese super agent Jorge Mendes, who himself is close with Real President Florentino Perez.

Where this would leave Bale remains anyone's guess, although the Wales captain will have no shortage of suitors should he become available, next summer. The former Southampton youngster has long been coveted by Manchester United and was strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford, this summer, with Jose Mourinho admitting his interest in the former Spurs star.
