With the transfer window ready to SLAM shut (not sure why it's always got to slam shut) in a couple of weeks' time, a whole manner of players from across the globe are going to be linked with the Premier League's top clubs, but we're not sure anyone predicted Chelsea's latest move.

The Blues look set to make 33-year-old Dinamo Zagreb goalkeeper Eduardo their latest recruit, after the club's manager Zlatko Kranjcar confirmed the Portuguese international's departure in a recent interview.

Eduardo's imminent arrival at Stamford Bridge is expected to pave the way for Asmir Begovic to leave the club, with Eduardo stepping in as Thibaut Courtois' number two. Speaking to the press after Dinamo's 1-1 draw with Salzburg in a Champions League qualifier, Kranjcar answered the question "Eduardo is leaving?" by saying, "I think so. Eduardo has been given an amazing opportunity to leave for a big club like Chelsea. With his arrival we gained security in our team, since my time in the club he has defended his goal very well. Even impressive. But the situation is that he is leaving, may he have all the good luck in the big club."

The Portuguese goalkeeper will become Antonio Conte's third signing as Chelsea manager, following the arrivals of Michy Batshuayi and N'Golo Kante.
