It's been a frustrating summer for Antonio Conte, with the Chelsea manager butting heads with his board over their lack of movement in the transfer window. But it may appear that the former Juventus and Italy boss is about to add to his ranks with a rather impressive piece of business.
So far Conte has added Alvaro Morata, Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Willy Caballero to his ranks but has also seen Nemanja Matic and John Terry depart Stamford Bridge with Diego Costa currently AWOL and not expected to play again for the club.
On top of these first team departures, fringe players such as Nathan Ake, Nathaniel Chalobah and Asmir Begovic have been sold, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been loaned to Crystal Palace for the season, leaving Conte desperately short of strength in depth.

According to Goal, however, the Premier League champions have made some progress with a deal for Internazionale's Antonio Candreva.

The 30-year-old Italian international is believed to be available, with Inter wanting to fund a move for Sampdoria defender Patrik Schick.
Candreva, who only arrived at the San Siro last summer after spending three years with Lazio, shares an agent with Antonio Conte and has been on the Chelsea manager's radar for several months, having also played for Conte for the Italian national team during the Azzurri's Euro 2016 campaign.

Inter, meanwhile, are keen to sell Candreva and Stevan Jovetic in order to avoid any Financial Fair Play sanctions.
On top of the Candreva deal, Chelsea are also looking to seal deals for Danny Drinkwater, Virgil van Dijk and potentially Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is believed to have told Arsene Wenger that he will not be signing a new contract at Arsenal.
