His time in England has certainly been suspect but Colombian forward Radamel Falcao is ready to try and reignite his career at French club Monaco following a baron spell with Manchester United and current club Chelsea.

Falcao has scored just once in 14 appearances for Chelsea this season and his time at Manchester United didn't exactly leave fans wanting more but maybe a return to Monaco will change the 30-year-old's fortunes?

The former Atletico forward was raking in an incredible wage packet of £265,000 per week at Old Trafford. Months later he took £140,000 a week at Chelsea under Jose Mourinho. Basically, he's earned an absolute fortune during his two year spell in the Premier League. .

It has emerged that Chelsea told Falcao that he was no longer needed as far back as February. He then went onto explain that River Plate approached to sign him but a deal with Monaco was already in place:

He said:

"In February, Chelsea told me that they were no longer counting on me, so I will not be continuing with that club. Monaco made a big investment in me and they want some return on that. They want me back at the club for next season."

"I need to have minutes, to play, and we'll see what happens. Monaco want to see what my position is in a year, to see what possibilities I have."

"River approached me to know the possibility to return but at that time Monaco, Chelsea and me had in mind to continue in Europe.

"Then in February, Chelsea told me that I was not going to be taken into account for the future and I tried it [to go back to River] but it was too late."

Can Falcao get his career back on track at Monaco?
