Barcelona have asked for £631 million for anyone who wants to sign Lionel Messi this summer. The Argentine has supposedly made it clear he wants to leave the club.

After Barcelona's incredibly embarrassing exit from the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals to Bayern Munich, Lionel Messi has made it clear behind-the-scenes that he wants out of Barcelona.

Even though Quique Setien was sacked and succeeded by Barcelona legend, Ronald Koeman, the Argentine still supposedly wants out.

However, Barcelona have reportedly told Messi that if he wants to leave this summer then they will only accept offers of his £631 million release clause according to Mundo Deportivo.

Koeman has made it clear he wants Messi to stay and said the club must meet his ambitions.

"Messi is a pure winner," Koeman told Dutch media outlet NOS.

"I am very close with Pep Guardiola and I am still in contact with him now."

"Pep told me that Messi wants to win, he wants to win everything. And if he doesn't win, he can get very annoyed. I am looking so much forward to work with him."

"I have to make sure that Messi will be able to function well in this team, and that he feels important. He is the captain of this club."

"He has to finish his career here. Messi is Barcelona and Barcelona is Messi."

Messi has been deemed un-sellable by the Barcelona board and are therefore asking for the release clause, or for Messi to wait out the remaining year of his current contract.
