Barcelona have officially completed the signing of Mike van Beijnen, who is the son of Frenkie de Jong's agent.

The Spanish champions finalised the deal for the 20-year-old defender through Ali Durson, who was instrumental in bringing De Jong, 22, to Barça.

Van Beijnen has been snapped up for free after he spent a year with NAC Breda in the Netherlands.

And the Dutch full-back will play with Barcelona B in the third tier of Spanish football, the Segunda Division B.

The ex-NAC Breda man penned his two-year deal on Thursday afternoon at the Ciutat Esportiva and his release clause has been set at a whopping £89.2m (€100m).

He has also played for PSV Eindhoven and Willem II -- and the latter is where he trained alongside De Jong in the youth academy.

De Jong signed a pre-contract agreement with Barcelona back in January for a reported fee of £65m (€75m).

And the Dutch starlet is expected to link up with his teammates when he officially becomes a Barcelona player from 1st July.

The Ajax midfielder had a superb outing with his club last season after capturing the Eredivisie crown and the KNVB Cup.

But De Jong also carried over his fine form for his country as they made it to the final of the inaugural Nations League competition.

He has admitted that he is excited about the prospect of playing alongside Barcelona midfielder Arthur.

"[Arthur is] a fantastic player and I can't wait to play with him," he said.

"He's got a lot of confidence with the ball, his technique is really good and it's very hard to get the ball off him.

"Of course we can play together, why not?"

Will De Jong and Van Beijnen be successful at Barcelona and Barcelona B respectively?
