Barcelona are reportedly looking to bring another Manchester City star to the Camp Nou after completing the signing of Ferran Torres on Wednesday, according to The Sun.

Aymeric Laporte has been a key figure in Pep Guardiola's side this season, and has played the full 90 minutes in City's last six Premier League games.

In total, the Spain international has made 19 appearances across all competitions and scored two goals in the 5-0 and 6-3 wins over Norwich City and Leicester City respectively.

But despite featuring regularly this season, he could be on his way back to Spain after nearly four years at the Etihad.

Any fee for Laporte is likely to be in the same region as the money paid for Torres, as City shelled out £58million to Athletic Bilbao for his services in January 2018.

Barca hope that a fresh injection of cash in the summer will be enough to bring the defender to Catalonia, where he would link up with former City player Eric Garcia.

Garcia joined the Catalan club on a free transfer last summer, and regularly plays alongside Laporte for the Spanish national team.

Laporte is currently under contract at City until June 2025, meaning that a high transfer fee becomes even more likely.

However, the 27-year-old's focus will be on City for now, as Guardiola's men prepare for a match away at Arsenal on New Year's Day.

A 1-0 win away at Brentford on Wednesday has left the reigning champions eight points clear at the top of the table.
