Antonio Conte could reunite with one of his former players next year, after it was reported that the Chelsea manager has been in contact with the star over a potential deal.

Back in November, reports via Metro emerged that Bayern Munich were considering selling Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal and now, those claims have re-emerged.

Vidal, who played under Conte at Juventus for three seasons, has a contract that expires in the summer of 2019, meaning he would have just a year left to run on his current deal at the end of the current campaign.

Antonio Conte has now got in touch with Vidal in an attempt to convince him to move to Stamford Bridge. according to La Cuarta via BILD.

The report states that the Premier League champions will pay the midfielder a salary worth £250,000 a week, but Bayern are holding out for 60 million.

Rumours emerged previously that the former Bayer Leverkusen player had even begun to learn English ahead of a proposed move to Chelsea, though no such deal ever materialised.

Earlier today, after Chelsea's 2-0 win over Brighton, Antonio Conte responded to the reports by refusing to rule out a move for the player.

"I don't speak about players from other teams' card,' he said via The Daily Mail.

"I must be honest, it's not right to talk about a player of another team. Especially if you try to link this player with us.

"But Arturo is a fantastic player, I have a great respect for Arturo, and we spent many years in Juventus together. If we go to war, I'd always want him with me."

If that doesn't scream a move, I don't know what does.

Would Vidal be a good signing for Chelsea? Let us know your thoughts.
