A Manchester United Player Could Be Set For Serie A Switch

Most of the transfer stories regarding Manchester United this summer are mainly concerning players who could be on their way to Old Trafford, but there are a few first team members set for the exit door.

One of which, is Matteo Darmian.

The Italian right-back has struggled to make an impression at United since arriving from Torino in 2015, making just 29 appearances under Jose Mourinho, last season.

However, despite Darmian's struggles at Old Trafford, the Italian international is a wanted man in his home country, with Roma joining Inter Milan in the race for the 27-year-old's signature.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, the Giallorossi are interested in the full-back with a view to completing a season long loan deal that could be made permanent, next summer.

While Darmian may have failed to convince many during his two seasons in Manchester, his versatility did prove to be useful for Jose Mourinho, who was able to deploy him at left-back when United were dealing with an defensive injury crisis, last term.

The former Torino man has made 68 appearances in total for the Red Devils, scoring once. He has lifted the FA Cup, EFL Cup and Europa League during his time at Old Trafford.

Also on his way out of the club could be Chris Smalling, who has failed to impress Mourinho and has also suffered badly with injuries over the past year.

Everton are apparently willing to launch a bid for the England international in the coming weeks.
