On Saturday, Fernando Torres will have the chance to lift the Champions League for the second time in his career but it'll be the first time he'll be able to enjoy the experience, should Atletico Madrid do what they couldn't do in the final two years ago and conquer city rivals Real.
Torres was part of the Chelsea squad who completed an unlikely Champions League triumph in 2012, memorably scoring the decisive goal in the semi-final second leg against Barcelona in the Camp Nou. However, despite beating Bayern Munich in the Allianz Arena to win the tournament for the first time, Torres didn't enjoy the experience.
"Nothing would beat winning the Champions League with Atletico. I won it with Chelsea, but I was not in a good place.
"I did not feel I was being treated well at the time - I felt lost."
The 'Rojiblancos' are out to avenge their painful loss in 2014's Champions League final in Lisbon, where they were just minutes away from their first coronation as Champions of Europe before an injury time Sergio Ramos header sent the game into extra-time, where Real picked off their city rivals with a further three goals. 'El Nino' and his teammates will be hoping history doesn't repeat itself at the San Siro on Saturday night.
