Former football star Juninho has brushed aside fierce competition to be crowned the best free-kick taker of all time by fans.

And now fans over at TheTopTens have placed Juninho top of the pile ahead of the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham and Roberto Carlos.


"Juninho is simply the best free-kick taker we have ever seen. He is able to score from anywhere," one fan posted in the rankings.

A second wrote: "Amazing whip, dip, height and power. There will never be a better dead-ball specialist!"

While a third said: "Honestly, he's the best free-kick taker of all time. During his time in Lyon, he never had one free-kick off target."


And a fourth added: "His conversion rate is phenomenal! He was by far the best free-kick taker of all time."

Manchester United legend Beckham and Juventus superstar Ronaldo finished second and third respectively.
