Liverpool have narrowly edged out Premier League rivals Manchester City to be named the most valuable club in world football right now.

Jurgen Klopp's men were in scintillating form last season as Liverpool beat City in the Premier League title race.

Transfermarkt has now revealed that Liverpool are the most valuable squad in the world with a market valuation of £972.63m.

Liverpool's £972.63m value helped them nudge out City to the top spot, with their Premier League rivals coming second with £971.64m.

Barcelona and Bayern Munich came third and fourth respectively with £790.65m and £787.19m squad valuations.

Meanwhile, defending French champions Paris Saint-Germain round off the top five most valuable squads with their £772.88m market valuation.
