Tottenham star Gareth Bale and Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard were amongst the 25 players predicted to be the next Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo, 35, left Manchester United in 2009 for a then-world-record move of £80m to Real Madrid.

The Portuguese superstar won the first of his five Ballon d'Ors at Old Trafford and lifted three Premier League titles and the Champions League with the Red Devils.

Ronaldo would continue to build on his illustrious playing career at Los Blancos, adding a further four Ballon d'Ors and four Champions League titles to his name.

While the Juventus superstar and fierce rival Lionel Messi would continue to battle it out over who is the best player in world football, there were many already looking to identify the heir to Ronaldo's throne.

Bleacher Report attempted to do the aforementioned task in 2010 and compiled 25 players who could become the next Ronaldo.

Joining Bale and Hazard on the list includes the likes of former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, Manchester United flop Alexis Sanchez and Barcelona midfielder Miralem Pjanic.

Posted below are Bleacher Report's 2010 predictions for the 25 players who were tipped to be the next Cristiano Ronaldo.
