Toni Kroos' Comments After Brazil Defeat May Surprise Fans

It was an honest post-match interview from Kroos.

Toni Kroos didn't pull any punches in his post-match interview following the 1-0 defeat to Brazil on Tuesday night.

The Germans trounced Brazil 7-1 on their own patch in 2014 on route to their fourth World Cup triumph, and though the holders remain one of the favourites to lift the trophy in Russia, Kroos believes their latest loss was a reality-check for many.

"We played a bit better in the second half than in the first, but the negative side outweighs the rest," Kroos is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

"We have shown that were are not as good as some people say or as some of us might think.

"We were far too easy to play, even though we had a few players on the pitch who had a chance to show what they can do. But they did not."

Incredibly honest stuff from the 28-year old. It's not quite Roy Keane's infamous rant after United lost to Middlesbrough in 2005, but there are some pretty strong comments.

His Real Madrid colleague Isco also fancied speaking his mind after he bagged a hat-trick in Spain's 6-1 thumping of Argentina at the Wanda Metropolitano.

He highlighted the faith stored in him by Spanish boss Julen Lopetegui for his performance, while comparing his situation at Real Madrid.

"In Madrid, I don't have the confidence a player needs," he said in his post-match interview as quoted by Marca via Sky Sports.

"The matches with the national team give me life. Here, I have the confidence of the coach.

"I want to show that I'm a good player. Lopetegui shows me confidence with the minutes he gives me.

"Maybe I'm the problem in Madrid. I don't know how to win Zidane's confidence."

Clearly it was a night for truth-bombs from Los Blancos players!
