Gabriel Agbonlahor Claims Three Tottenham Players Are Stopping Them From Winning The Premier League Title

Gabriel Agbonlahor doesn't think that Toby Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez or Eric Dier will help fire Tottenham to the Premier League title.

Gabriel Agbonlahor has argued that Tottenham won't win the Premier League title this season due to their 'leaky' defence.

Spurs, who are second in the league, sealed all three points late on against West Brom on Sunday thanks to Harry Kane's header.

Agbonlahor claimed that Tottenham "will be up there in the top four," but he doesn't believe their "defence is up to scratch" for a league title challenge.

And the 34-year-old former Aston Villa striker picked out Toby Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier as the players who won't win Spurs the Premier League title.

Agbonlahor told Football Insider: "You know what? I can't say Spurs can't win because it's a strange season, it's really strange. You win a game you move up four places you go down four places.

"Spurs will be up there in the top four, but I just don't see them winning the league because of their defence, I don't think their defence is up to scratch, really, and they will concede goals.

"I look at their centre-backs and I just see there's goals to be leaked there. They haven't got that big centre-half who is going to get you out of trouble.

"Alderweireld, Sanchez, Dier, they're okay defenders but I don't think they're the ones who are going to take Spurs to a title."

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho has insisted that his side could challenge for league titles in different countries in Europe.

But the former Manchester United and Chelsea manager added that Spurs face stiff competition from various sides vying for the Premier League title.

"I would say that this team could be champion in many European countries," Mourinho said in his post-match press conference.

"The Premier League is the most difficult one to be, because in the Premier League you can do a good season, can have lots of points, but in the end [...] Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea, Man United, Leicester, Arsenal.

"So you can have a good season and not be champion. So, what can we do? We go match after match. We try to win, we don't care about the others.

"I promise you I'm not worried about Leicester v Wolves or City v Liverpool. If Liverpool wins, it is because City loses points. If Leicester wins, it is because Wolves dropped points.

"So I don't care, I just want the team to play match after match and then at the end of the season let's see where we are."
