Thread Of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Game-Changing Substitutions Shows He's Gone From 'Super Sub' To 'Super Subber'

A thread of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's game-changing substitutions show that the Norwegian has evolved from the 'super sub" that impacted matches.

Under Sir Alex Ferguson, Solskjaer made a career out of coming off the bench to influence and ultimately win games for Manchester United.

He's now doing it as a different way as United manager by making key changes at important moments this season.

@UTDSamu has created a thread highlighting Solskjaer's ability to change a game with a substitution. The latest instance was of course the 3-1 win at Spurs, where United again came from behind to emerge victorious away from home.

It was the introduction of Mason Greenwood in the second half that proved to be the difference. The United No.11 delivered a stunning cross for Edinson Cavani to put the Red Devils in the lead, before he went on to score himself and seal the win in stoppage time.

Solskjaer also used his subs wisely in the Champions League. Paul Pogba came off the bench to assist Marcus Rashford's winner against PSG, before Rashford entered the fray against RB Leipzig and scored a devastating hat-trick.

Bruno Fernandes completely changed games against West Ham and Liverpool respectively, while Edinson Cavani was involved in all three goals as United came from 2-0 down at half-time to beat Southampton in November.

Both games against AC Milan in the Europa League saw players come off the bench and score.

Amad Diallo notched his first goal for United with a glorious backwards header in the first leg, and then Paul Pogba made a stunning return from injury by scoring instantly after coming on a half-time at the San Siro.
