Twitter Thread 'Exposes' Nemanja Vidic As 'The Most Overrated Defender In Premier League History'

Twitter Thread 'Exposes' Nemanja Vidic As 'The Most Overrated Defender In Premier League History'

Nemanja Vidic has been called the "most overrated defender in Premier League history" in a Twitter thread which has been doing the rounds.

The tough-tackling former Manchester United skipper won five Premier League titles and one Champions League during his spell at Old Trafford but one Liverpool fan sought out to 'expose' him.

In a nutshell, the thread contains 15 clips - many of which see the no-nonsense Serbian ends up on his floor during his United career.

There are several clips highlighting Vidic's struggles against Liverpool over the years, as well as him diving in against FC Barcelona in Champions League finals.

Some of the videos are quite harsh and scrape the barrel big-time but others also range to Hugo Rodallega, Gabby Agbonhalor and Carlton Cole getting better than him - the latter pair both winning penalties after some clumsy defending from Vidic.

Those short clips don't always tell the full story but then again that's what seems to happen on 'football twitter' these days.

As aforementioned, Vidic had a whole lot of difficulty whenever he played against Liverpool and in particular Fernando Torres, but when it came to the toughest strikers he faced in his career, the Spaniard did not get a mention.
