Thomas Tuchel Reveals Who He Thinks Should Win The Ballon d'Or As Five Chelsea Stars Nominated

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has revealed who he thinks should win the coveted Ballon d'Or this year.

FIVE Chelsea stars are included in the list of 30 nominees for the 2021 Ballon d'Or.

Romelu Lukaku, N'Golo Kante, Mason Mount and Cesar Azpilicueta have all been nominated.

Not to mention Jorginho, who has been backed by his boss to win the prestigious individual prize.

The German has praised the Italian international and reckons he deserves to win the award.

"Jorginho deserves to win the Ballon d'Or," he said via Football Italia. "He's a very intelligent player and it's a pleasure to be his coach.

"He has a great vision of football. For me, individual prizes don't have great significance, it's impossible to make a real comparison between several players of different roles.

"I would like one of my players to win it because I would know what the effect would be.

"Then Jorginho is a great person and an excellent player, but in general it's not the most important thing."

Jorginho, 29, has had an incredible year having enjoyed success at club and country.

He won the Champions League with Chelsea before helping his national side to Euro 2020 triumph over England in the summer.

Six-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi and five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo are also in contention to win this year's prize.

Robert Lewandowski, Leonardo Bonucci, Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah, among others, are also nominated.
