Although Germany won the penalty shoot out against Italy, it wasn't an easy ride. In the end, though, Joachim Löw's side did become the eventual winners after a 6-5 win on penalties.
But one person we all expected to score with ease was Bayern Munich's Thomas Muller, who had his penalty saved by Gianluigi Buffon.
And whilst most would forget and not mention it, Muller responded to the penalty miss.
Fair play, Muller.
