In terms of the format, the tournament will feature a group stage followed by a knockout round, with games lasting 30 minutes.

Robert Pires, one of the most gifted players to ever grace the Premier League, cannot wait to be part of the tournament in July.

Speaking to Reuters, he said:

"I think it will be really good to watch. The standard will be high and the competitiveness will be there but I think we're all probably quite pleased the games are 30 minutes and not 90."

Pires, Puyol and Deco all attended the competition's launch yesterday.

Berlin, Istanbul, Beijing, Sydney, Miami and Seattle could all host similar events in the future.

With more big names to be announced, we cannot wait for this tournament to happen in the summer!
