Thierry Henry, the Premier League's greatest ever foreign import, celebrates his 42nd birthday today.

Henry made the move to these shores from Juventus in a £11 million, club record deal for Arsenal. The iconic French striker went on to become the club's all-time leading goalscorer and the rest is well, history.

Henry is the only player ever to have won the FWA Footballer of the Year three times, becoming his country's all-time top scorer while securing his place in football history.

And can we also just give a special mention to the iconic glove/long sleeve/socks to knees combo?

As well as Henry being labelled the club's greatest player of all time after scoring 228 goals during his time in North London, the former New York Red Bulls forward has been branded the best overseas player in Premier League history.

250,000 people voted for the 41-year-old in a Sky Sports poll, with pundits Alan Shearer, Alan Smith and Chris Sutton all agreeing with the decision.

"For longevity in the Premier League and the number of appearances he made and the goals he scored, Henry is up there." said Shearer.

"Henry has all the numbers. There was elegance to everything he did. I wonder how many fans around the world watch the Premier League because of Thierry Henry. He was the complete package, an incredible footballer and a marketing manager's dream. He took your breath away with what he did." added Smith.

"Henry is the greatest ever player in the Premier League. What he brought in terms of people paying to watch him play, he is the one. He got the crowd off their seats and what could he not do? He was a phenomenal player." finished Sutton.

Last year we gave SPORTbible's audience four options in an online poll to determine the greatest Premier League striker of all time.

After much debate, the likes of Didier Drogba, Michael Owen and Andy Cole missed out as the Premier League's all-time top scorer Alan Shearer joined Thierry Henry, Sergio Aguero and Wayne Rooney.

Over 20,000 SPORTbible fans voted for their personal favourite and the former Barcelona striker came out on top with 49% of the vote.

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer came in second with 36% of votes, while Wayne Rooney and Sergio Aguero lagged behind with 11% and 4%, respectively.
