Remember Mamady Sidibe? The former Premier League frontman who used to ply his trade at Stoke City? Well, his career has taken quite the turn.

Despite retiring from professional football back in February 2015, the 36-year-old began playing for a Sunday League side, Robin Hood Rookery, AND he pays them £4 a-week to play.

It's actually not the first time he's been a member of a Sunday League side as he used to don the shirts of Pro Claim FC in the Potteries and District League in 2015. Anyone ever notice him?

While he continues to grace the pitch, he also juggles being a scout for his former side Stoke. Sidibe was in action last weekend as they drew 2-2 with Travellers Rest Milton in the Coors Sunday League.

From earning big bucks to spending money for a run out, Sidibe confesses his enjoyment of his new career path though realises the difference it bares from the top flight.

"When you have been playing football all your life you miss it when you stop, so I am enjoying playing again. Most of the players I play against are Stoke City fans and it's good fun to play with them."

"It costs me £4 subs to play so yes it's a massive difference from being in the Premier League, but this takes me back to square one from when I started playing."

"I really enjoy it, it keeps me fit and enjoy being part of a dressing room with the lads as well." Speaking to the Stoke Sentinel.

As well as the football and scouting, the Mali striker owns a French patisserie at the Potteries Shopping Centre in Hanley with his wife. Post-Premier League life is proving to be a fruitful one for Sidibe.
