There's A Ridiculous Rumour Involving Gareth Bale And Cristiano Ronaldo

There's A Ridiculous Rumour Involving Gareth Bale And Cristiano Ronaldo

Surely not?

Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale are the difference-makers in this Real Madrid side.

When things aren't going to plan, Los Blancos have four-time Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo and Bale, who arrived at Real Madrid for a then-world record fee, to get them out of trouble and their sheer individual talents have done so on many big occasions.

As good as Zidane's Madrid are as a team, you take their dynamic duo out of the side and they look fairly ordinary.

Given that they both deliver in big moments on the pitch and the fact that are so marketable in terms of their global appeal and popularity with shirt sales, you'd think they are unsellable.

But Spanish outlet Don Balon don't seem to think so.

Both Ronaldo and Bale had off-days in the 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid at the Bernabeu - a result that would have gone down as a big disappointment had Barcelona not succumbed to a shock 2-0 loss away at Malaga.

Don Balon say that both boss Zinedine Zidane and club president Florentino Perez feel the need to strength in attack when the summer window rolls around, but they have gone a tad overboard by suggesting that it could come at the expense of Ronaldo or Bale.

They report that one out of the 'BBC' (Bale, Benzema, Cristiano) contingent could be sold as Real Madrid look to freshen things up in the front three.

The trio have scored a staggering 58 of Real Madrid's goals in all competitions, with both Ronaldo and Bale have committed themselves to the club by signing new deals in recent times.

There would appear to be little truth to the story purely in terms of logistics.

I call bullshit.
