Manchester City's assistant coach is a wanted man. But Pep Guardiola is hellbent on keeping his coaching services.

Guardiola's side are flying this season. From the Premier League to the Champions League.

His buccaneering team are sitting comfortably at the top of the league table, well ahead of cross-town rivals, United, and defending champions, Chelsea.

As well as their success in the domestic campaign, City have also booked their spot in the next round of the Champions League after topping Group F.

While his philosophy and tactics have steered City to the the summit of the league, his backroom staff also deserve special praise which includes Mikel Arteta.

The Spaniard joined the Blues in 2016, and he's quickly made a name for himself.

So much so he's reportedly courting interest from within England's top flight. Both North London clubs, Spurs and Arsenal, are keeping tabs on him per AS.

Mauricio Pochettino wants Arteta at Spurs, and has even tabled a job offer for him. He was hoping to lure him to the capital with a gig in the clubs technical department.

Arteta, who finished his career at Arsenal, is still adored by the Emirates faithfuls with the club eyeing him up as a potential long-term replacement for Arsene Wenger.

Finally, before appointing 'Big Sam', Everton were plotting an offer for Arteta until they opted for the experience of the former Newcastle, West Ham and England gaffer.

But while clubs around England, and beyond, continue to monitor his situation, Guardiola is keen to hold onto him.

Guardiola and Arteta have quickly forged a brilliant relationship. Though could the lure of a managerial position at one of his former clubs be too hard to turn down?
