The Text Message Sir Alex Ferguson Sent To Solskjaer When He Became United Manager
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer immediately got in touch with Sir Alex Ferguson after receiving the call to manage Manchester United, and he's revealed what the legendary boss said to him.
United swiftly drafted in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to replace Jose Mourinho who was sacked after a poor run of results.
And the Norwegian fan favourite has enjoyed a terrific start to life as United boss. His side have won eights games in a row since his appointment.
The 45-year-old's using the same United philosophy as Sir Alex - attacking, free flowing football.
And upon receiving the call to manage United, Solskjaer messaged Sir Alex who gave him his blessing.
Ole: "I texted Sir Alex when I got the call and he gave me his blessings to put it that way. No he thought I was ready for it because obviously, we kept in touch when I was down in Cardiff and now at Molde. He's been following my progress in Europe." #mufc [beIN]

"I texted Sir Alex when I got the call and he gave me his blessings, to put it that way," the United caretaker manager said.
What's more, Solskjaer also revealed that Sir Alex has been following his managerial progress during his spells at Cardiff City and Molde.
"He thought I was ready for it. Obviously, we kept in touch when I was down in Cardiff and now at Molde. He's been following my progress in Europe."
Solskjaer's becoming a strong candidate to take the full-time position following his blistering start.
While he's beaten the likes of Spurs and Arsenal away from home, bigger challenges await in the form of cup trips to Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, not to mention Manchester City and Liverpool in the league.
Meanwhile, United resume their league campaign, tonight, against Burnley at Old Trafford
