In news that will make you feel very old, the sons of Didier Drogba and Samuel Eto'o both made their debuts this weekend.

20-year-old Isaac Drogba made his professional bow for Italian fourth division side Folgore Caratese, coming on as an 79th minute substitute in a 4-1 win over Saluzzo.

Drogba Jr had previously spent time plying his trade for the reserves at Guingamp, where his Ivorian legend of dad played for one year before sealing a big move to Marseille.

Born in Paris in 2000, he has also played in Chelsea's youth team as a youngster.

In addition, Saturday also marked a huge moment for Etienne Eto'o. He featured for Cameroon's Under 20 side for the first time in the Under 20 Africa Cup of Nations.

The youngster dropped a Man of the Match performance, scoring twice and assisting another as his side also won 4-1 against Mozambique in the final group stage fixture.

His first goal was a glorious free-kick that opened the scoring in the seventh minute before he added a penalty in first-half stoppage time.

Full of confidence, Eto'o Jr wants to surpass his famous father, who is Cameroon's all-time top scorer and won back-to-back trebles with Inter and Barcelona.

"There is always pressure in life whether or not you are the son of a famous person. But for me, I just try to enjoy my career and demonstrate to people that I can do it," Etienne told Caf media.

"My dad has played a huge influence in my life because I have always admired him and want to learn from him and continue in his steps. Always I want to be someone as him.

"I want to try and be better than him and I am always looking forward to stepping on the pitch and giving my best. Even though I know it is difficult to be better than my father, I want to work hard to achieve like him. He is always there to support me and give me advice."

Playing at the very highest level in European football, Drogba and Eto'o are widely considered to be two of the best African strikers in football history and the pair regularly tussled for the individual accolades.

Now in retirement, their sons, both the same age, are following in their footsteps.
