Marouane Fellaini was subject to a barrage of abuse following his seven minute cameo. But Jose Mourinho dragged him off because he suffered a knock, and the severity of his injury has reportedly been revealed.

Though, in the second half, he entered the fray. However, his appearance didn't last long. After coming on for Jesse Lingard in the 63rd minute, he was later withdrawn for Ander Herrera.
Fellaini exchanged words with Mourinho before going straight down the tunnel to the dressing room.
While it appeared Mourinho took him off in frustration, Fellaini had actually suffered an injury to his knee.

And according to sources via ESPN, Fellaini is set to face a spell on the sideline. Reports suggest he could be out of action for about 6-8 weeks with concerns over medial ligament damage.
He'll undergo further scans at Carrington to determine the full extent of his knee injury. Only 'if swelling in the knee joint has subsided enough for a clear diagnosis' per ESPN.
If results show serious damage, he could require surgery which means United will be without his services till April.

Following the league defeat, Mourinho explained Fellaini's 'unlucky' situation.
"I think I was unlucky with Fellaini as I wanted to change a little bit the dynamic of the team," he said via MUFC.
Mourinho added: "After a couple of minutes, he was injured. It's always the same thing. It is the lateral ligament. I don't think it's a big, big thing but he was immediately feeling something and telling us he couldn't carry on.
