The Reason Why West Ham's Upton Park Stadium Has Been Destroyed

Some Hammers won't be best pleased.

A number of West Ham fans are gutted after photos emerged on social media showing their beloved Upton Park stadium lying in tatters - and it's all for the filming of an unreleased action movie.

The Hammers vacated the stadium, otherwise known as the Boleyn Ground, at the end of May, after spending the previous 112 years playing there.

The likes of Geoff Hurst, Bobby Moore and Trevor Brooking all learned their trade on the hallowed turf in east London, but now it lies in rack and ruin.

And according to the Daily Star, it's all part of the production for 'Final Score' - a new action movie starring Pierce Brosnan and Dave Bautista.

Judging by some of the photos on Twitter, it doesn't look as though the new temporary inhabitants have been very gentle:

The pictures might be even more frustrating for Hammers fans when you consider that the move to the Olympic Stadium hasn't been exactly as smooth as the club's hierarchy would've liked.

Marred by crowd trouble, Premier League and European games at West Ham's new home have bee, frankly, a bit of a disaster so far.
But destroying your stadium as part of a new Pierce Brosnan movie?!

Is it just us, or is that a sad way for the Boleyn to go? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
