N'Golo Kanté will be staying in the Premier League for the foreseeable future after penning a new deal with Chelsea.

The 27-year-old midfielder has signed a five-year deal with the Blues, keeping him at Stamford Bridge until 2023.

Leicester City brought the World Cup-winning Frenchman to England after signing him from Caen in 2015.

Kanté would be instrumental for the Foxes in his first and only season at the club, with former manager Claudio Ranieri leading Leicester City to the Premier League title.

Chelsea signed the French international in the following season and Kanté would capture another Premier League medal in his first season at the club.

"It has been two beautiful years and I wish for more to come," he told Chelsea FC.

"Since I came, I have completely improved as a player, challenged myself and got some awards I never thought about.

"I like the city, I like the club and I am happy to be here for more time."

Marina Granovskaia, the club director at Chelsea, added: "When he arrived, we knew we had signed a special player -- but he has astounded everybody with his tireless and unselfish displays.

Chelsea

"Off the pitch, he remains a dedicated professional and a humble human being, despite the fact he is a world champion and a two-time Premier League winner.

"We now look forward to five more years with N'Golo at the heart of the Chelsea midfield."

When SPORTbible spoke to Eden Hazard in an exclusive interview last month, the Belgian international could not speak more highly of Kanté.

"N'Golo is a fantastic guy," he said. "On the pitch, he's always trying to do his best for the team.

"France won the World Cup because of N'Golo, two years ago we won the league because of N'Golo and Leicester won the league because of N'Golo.

"He's a fantastic player, he controls the midfield and off the pitch he's a fantastic guy also.

"This guy can talk, especially in French. We speak French together so it's easier for him to talk French than English, but he's a normal guy and in the dressing room we have a lot of guys like this. It's why he's happy here."

Kanté was one of the footballers recently hit by Football Leaks, but it only proved how much of a nice bloke the Frenchman really is.
