Forget the big boys.

A few weeks ago, Burnley's Nick Pope was statistically the best keeper in Europe's big five leagues. But he's now not even the best in the Premier League.

Pope rose to prominence following his brilliance between the sticks after deputising for the injured Tom Heaton. He had the best save percentage (94%) of any goalkeeper in Europe including the likes of Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak, and Inter Milan's Samir Handanovic.

However, the latest round of games in England's top flight have provided more numbers which reveal new results.

Statistically speaking, Simon Mignolet (!!) is the best shot-stopper in the league this season.

That's despite committing another howler over the weekend while conceding four goals. The Belgium was at fault for Spurs' fourth goal. He flapped at a cross with Harry Kane eventually scoring.

Palace duo Wayne Hennessey and Julian Speroni follow Mignolet with Pope and Lukasz Fabianski rounding off the top five.

David De Gea and Petr Cech also crack the top ten.

The best shot-stoppers in the Premier League:

1. Simon Mignolet (Liverpool) - 28.2%

2. Wayne Hennessey (Crystal Palace) - 28%

3. Julian Speroni (Crystal Palace) - 27.3%

4. Nick Pope (Burnley) - 26.9%

5. Lukasz Fabianski (Swansea City) - 25.7%

6. David De Gea (Manchester United) - 24.4%

7. Jordan Pickford (Everton) - 24.3%

8. Fraser Forster (Southampton) - 23.7%

9. Asmir Begovic (Bournemouth) - 23.3%

10. Petr Cech (Arsenal) - 21.1%

So, there you have it - Mignolet is the best shot stopper in the league.
