Recent reports suggest that Aaron Ramsey has signed a pre-contract agreement with Juventus, but there is also talk he could potentially sign sooner than the summer.

After announcing he would not be extending his stay at the Emirates Stadium, the Welsh midfielder has courted interest from the likes of Bayern Munich, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain.

Media Set reported that Juventus stole a march and the 28-year-old gave his word on a four-year deal worth £145,000-a-week.

However, as per Gazzetta Dello Sport, via Daily Mail, Arsenal would be willing to let him leave earlier than that if they get Juve defender Mehdi Benatia as part of a swap deal.

A defensive reinforcement would appear to be a priority for Unai Emery, who has seen his side struggle at the back of late.

Benatia, formerly of Bayern Munich and Roma, has been behind the rock solid pairing of Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini at the Bianconeri but would surely make a huge difference to their current defensive options.

Juve could well turn down that proposal as they still see the Moroccan international as a useful squad player, but it does appear to be a given that Ramsey will be heading to Turin and become the club's third highest-paid player after Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala.

Ramsey joined from hometown club Cardiff as a youngster and has won three FA Cups in his time at the North London club.

He won the club's Player of the Season award in 2013/14 and 2017/18 but he and the club have been very far apart in contract negotiations and after his tenth and final season with the Gunners.
