There have been so many Premier League greats since its inception in 1992...

Since it was formed in 1992, the Premier League has brought to light some of the world's greatest players.

For many football fans, it's the best league out of any of Europe's top five leagues but it's also safe to say that there's been many of argument made about England's top tier.

For example, one of SPORTbible's readers' polls had Nemanja Vidić and Rio Ferdinand voted as the best defensive partnership in Premier League history.

While another had Manchester United's Paul Scholes voted as the best midfielder in England's top-flight competition.

Well, The Independent has now offered its two cents on the 100 greatest Premier League players.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry ultimately came out on top to claim the top spot, while former United star Cristiano Ronaldo took home second place.

Red Devils legends Ryan Giggs and Roy Keane finished third and fourth respectively, while Chelsea legend Frank Lampard secured a fifth-placed finish.
