Aymeric Laporte may be one of the most wanted defenders in Europe at the moment, but the Athletic Club centre half may not get the chance to impress at Euro 2016 this Summer after suffering a horrible looking injury during an U21 match, last night.

Laporte, who is reportedly top of Pep Guardiola's transfer list to bring to Manchester City, fell awkwardly in the box while attempting to make a tackle during France U21's match with Scotland's U21's.

At first there were reports that Laporte had broken his leg, but the injury isn't thought to be as serious as that, although Laporte has broken a bone in his ankle which will rule him out for two months, meaning a place in Didier Deschamps' France squad for the European Championships is unlikely.

The defender also provided an update on his injury via his official Instagram page
