In one of the most ironic stories ever, PSG's next game could be called off and it's all down to farmers.

In case you didn't get the jist of the joke, it's a recurring joke on social media that Ligue One is full of farmers, with the exception of the big boys of course.

WATCH: The best sports fails:

Unai Emery's side might not have a league game this week because of violent protests from farmers, who are not happy with a planned change in agricultural policies from president Emmanuel Macron and his government.

League leaders PSG are scheduled to play Toulouse, who are in 15th place in the league.

The protests from local farmers, which have got out of hand, are in relation to the government looking to reduce the amount agricultural areas that are eligible for farming subsidies from the European Union - with less favoured areas getting the priority.

Toulouse, the fourth largest city, will be greatly affected if the plans go ahead. As per The Local, those involved in the protests believe they will lose €7,000 a year.

Motorways in and around Toulouse have been blocked by farmers, with the situation not looking like it is going to defuse anytime soon given that protesters have said "villagers will die" if things don't change.

As a result, it means Toulouse-PSG is in danger of not going ahead on Saturday, meaning Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, Edinson Cavani and co. could get the weekend of.

It would give them more time to prepare for the eagerly-anticipated Champions League last 16 clash against holders Real Madrid.

The Parisians, who are the team to beat in the eyes of many, travel to the Bernabeu next Wednesday in what promises to be a wonderful game.
