The 9 Premier League Greats Who Have Never Won Player Of The Month

Mind blown....

It's not hard to believe why some people consider the Premier League to be the best domestic league in the world.

Just looking through the history books will show how many legends played on the pitch, including the likes of Thierry Henry, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Paul Scholes and Frank Lampard.

That's not to mention the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsène Wenger, José Mourinho and Pep Guardiola to show the impressive crop of managers in the league's history.

It's not surprising that most players in England's top division will have their eyes set on securing the Premier League title, but there's also some bragging rights for picking up the Player of the Month award.

If you look back through history, however, you will be really surprised by the legends that have missed out on the award.

Thanks to Dream Team FC, here are nine players that have never won Player of the Month:

  • Xabi Alonso (Liverpool)
  • Peter Schmeichel (Manchester United)
  • Sol Campbell (Arsenal)
  • Claude Makélélé (Chelsea)
  • Didier Drogba (Chelsea)
  • Ashley Cole (Chelsea)
  • Gary Neville (Manchester United)
  • Patrick Vieira (Arsenal)
  • Jamie Carragher (Liverpool)

Shocking stuff, right?

You'd expect each one of those players to have at least one Player of the Month award -- if not several for how important they were for their respective teams.

Which player are you surprised about the most?
