Following on from fans being well aware that Cristiano Ronaldo was winning the Ballon d'Or award weeks in advance and it not being a surprise when the Real Madrid superstar was officially confirmed as the winner, the FIFPro World XI for 2016 has apparently been leaked online.

The team, which is voted by fellow players, contains nine players from Barcelona and Champions League and Club World Cup winners Real Madrid.

The 55-man shortlist for the FIFPro World XI was released last month and the team is scheduled to be announced in the next few days at a FIFA ceremony.

But we may well already know exactly what the team will look like because of this supposed leak.

Bayern Munich's Manuel Neuer takes his place in goal, while Paris-Saint Germain defender Thiago Silva features at centre-back.

Dani Carvajal, Marcelo, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and 2016 Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo are all quite rightly included, and then more representatives from the Spanish top flight comes in the form of four Barcelona players: Gerard Pique, Andres Iniesta, Lionel Messi and Neymar.

The likes of Luis Suarez, Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez, Dimitri Payet and Antoine Griezmann were all on the 55-man shortlist for the Team Of The Year.

The Best FIFA Football Awards takes place in Zurich on 9 January and will also see the Puskas award, best men's player, best women's player, best men's coach, best women's coach, the FIFA fan award and a fair play award handed out.

FIFPro have since come out and said that that the 'leaked' team is not correct and we will have to wait until the 9 January for the actual World XI to be announced.
