Manchester United already have a number of exciting young players in and around the first-team and another could soon follow in the form of 16-year old wing wizard Deji Sotona, the proud owner of the sprint record at the club.

Sotona is officially the fastest player at United having clocked in at an insane 22.9mph, 1.2mph faster than previous holder Diogo Dalot, in a sprint test at the club's Carrington training ground.

According to the Daily Mail, Sotana, who was the under 14 sprint champion in Ireland when he was just 12, is also faster than Marcus Rashford (22.18mph), Daniel James (22.07mph) and Tahith Chong (22.36mph).

Sotana, who signed a two-year scholarship with the club earlier this year, plays for the club's Under 18 side. A nifty left winger with pace and trickery, he has already been likened to United legend Ryan Giggs and tipped for a bright future in the game.

He currently represents Ireland at youth level but is also eligible to play for Nigeria and England, with the youngster still having plenty of time to make his decision on who he will play for.

Last season in the Premier League it was a United player who was the fastest in the top flight as Timothy Fosu-Mensah, who spent the campaign on loan at Fulham, clocked a top speed of 21.9mph and beat the likes of Kyle Walker, Leroy Sane and DeAndre Yedlin.
