The poor bloke...

Back in May 2017, Real Madrid splashed out €45 million euros (£38.7 million) for 16-year old Brazilian wonderkid Vinicius Junior, with there being optimism that he can be the next big samba star.

Though he's been acquired by Los Blancos, the Brazilian Under 17 international has been loaned back to Flamengo and will continue to develop there until the 2019 Brazilian season has finished.

While he's still got plenty of room for improvement before he breaks into the Real side, he looks a very special talent and demonstrated his qualities last night.

Vinicius came off the bench to score his third goal of the season in a 2-0 win over Boavista, a result that brought him his first trophy with the club.

But he also pretty much ended a defender's career with a filthy piece of play down the right.

The 17-year old did a couple of step-overs but it was the deft faint and check back onto his left foot that completely fooled Boavista defender Kadu, who dived in and ended up getting sent to the shops for a loaf of bread.

The poor bloke was forced off with an injury sustained in his attempt to tackle the prodigy, horribly planting his foot in the challenge.

Vinicius would then find the net in the 79th minute, continuing what has been an impressive run of form of late.

In the recent 3-1 derby win over Botafogo, Vinicius rose to the occasion and conjured up a stunning strike into the top corner.

He looks a serious talent but will he make the grade at Real?
