Watch: Claudio Bravo Ruins Basel Player, Ederson Reacts Brilliantly

He's taught him a thing or two, it seems.

Claudio Bravo produced a glorious piece of play last night and his fellow goalkeeper Ederson absolutely loved it.

The Chilean has been forced to play second fiddle to summer signing Ederson, who has been sensational after signing from Benfica for a fee of £35 million in the summer.

With Ederson firmly Guardiola's no-one choice, and the Brazilian's insane distribution, commanding presence and shotstopping abilities being pivotal in their success, Bravo has had to make do with being City's cup keeper - a role he fulfilled excellently in City's Carabao Cup final triumph, to his credit.

He got a rare start in the Champions League last 16 dead rubber of a second leg against Basel, and though he conceded twice in a 2-1 defeat, his silky skills in the first half were probably the highlight of the game.

The former Barcelona man came racing out his goal to sniff out a Basel counter, in the same way Ederson does on a weekly basis.

After controlling the ball beautifully with his chest, Bravo superbly lofted the ball over the onrushing Basel forward Dimitri Oberlin.

As soon as the ruining had occurred, the cameras panned to Ederson on the subs bench and he was absolutely loved it - reacting to it with a big grin on his face.

Clearly, Ederson has been teaching Bravo a thing or two. City fans loved his reaction to the lovely skill:

Ederson's ability on the ball is simply incredible, with Gary Neville famously saying the 24-year old is a better passer than most central midfielders in the Premier League.

Back in December, in a fascinating interview with The Telegraph, he shed light on how he's so good with his feet.

"I started playing as a full-back, but it's difficult to chase quick forwards, especially for me that I'm not particularly quick," he said.

"I asked my manager if I could switch my position to the goal. When I did my first training session, it was love at first sight. I liked it since minute one and then my career as a goalkeeper started. But I think my footwork is influenced from having started as a full-back. Also I played futsal and that helped me a lot.

"I used to play as a 'goleiro-linha', it's a goalkeeper that plays a lot with his feet. So we used to attack with five players and defend with five players. From that period, I had my shooting skills and good footwork."

Don't be surprised if you see Ederson playing in midfield for a laugh when City have the title wrapped up...
